The producer of “Art,” which will be staged at SM City Cebu Cinema Two on that date, is giving away five pairs of free tickets to the show through this blog, on a first-come, first-served basis. You know the drill: E-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your free tickets. One blogger, one pair of tickets, so you can bring a companion along.
As usual, the only condition is that you blog about the show, though how you review it is entirely up to you.
From the media release: “The play, directed by Bart Guingona, features three well-respected names in the Philippine entertainment industry--Jett Pangan, Michael de Mesa and Ricky Davao. It is a comedy about a friendship that is tested when one member of the barkada does something that upsets another member--in this case, buying a painting that he finds 'pretentious.'
“Originally written in French and produced by Sean Connery in Paris, 'Art' has won numerous awards, including the 1998 Tony Award for Best Play and the 1997 Olivier Award for Best Comedy, and has been translated into, among others, English, Mandarin, Japanese, German and Spanish.
“This production, staged by Little Boy Productions and Actor's Actors, Inc., features a new translation by Lito Abaño that captures all the humor of the original while adapting its language into an easy, colloquial and thoroughly contemporary Filipino.”
A Manila run is scheduled in October at the RCBC Theater in Makati. I've no idea yet whether free tickets will also be offered for that run. Stay tuned.
