PinoyCentric.com--a big fan of everything Pinoy, including Philippine theater--is sponsoring 10 bloggers on a walking tour of the new PETA (Philippine Educational Theater Association) Center in Quezon City and a matinee show of “Batang Rizal” on August 25, Saturday.
The one-hour walkthrough of the PETA building, starting at 1:30 p.m., will give the participants an idea of how a theater production is run and what happens backstage. They will see how all the elements involved meld into a complete theater experience. At 3 p.m., the group will watch a performance of PETA's current production, “Batang Rizal”.
Tour fees and show tickets (P300 each) will be shouldered by Pinoycentric.com.
Who may join: Active bloggers who are willing to write about the experience.
How to join: Interested bloggers may e-mail Gibbs at firstname.lastname@example.org to signify their intent to join the tour and watch the performance. Participants will be chosen on a first-come-first-served basis.
What to do afterwards: Write a 300- to 500-word review of the play. It doesn't need to be as eloquent as a Palanca piece. Tell us what you thought about it and how you were touched (or not) by it.
A prize for the best piece: Because we believe in rewarding efforts, we're giving away a Moleskine reporter notebook to the post that impressed us the most. (The Moleskine is a legendary notebook used by European thinkers and artists for the past two centuries, from Picasso to Van Gogh, Ernest Hemingway to Bruce Chatwin.)
Deadlines: All reviews should be posted before August 31, Friday. Gibbs Cadiz and PinoyCentric's Armand Frasco and Karla Maquiling will go through all the entries and announce the winners on September 3, Monday.
This activity is also open to other bloggers who'd like to join the tour and pay for their own show ticket (only P300!). 'Ika nga, the more, the many-er! Not only will you get to watch a good play, you'll also meet fellow bloggers, PETA actors and the beauteous Karla! And you might even win that Moleskin notebook.
Thank you, Armand and Karla and everyone at PinoyCentric.com, for supporting this blog's crazy idea with your generous hearts and wallets.
Whatchu waiting for, peeps? Sign up now!
