Tony Perez's 'Bombita' from Gantimpala

As Gantimpala Theater Foundation celebrates its 30th season, the revivals of its milestone productions continue with Tony Perez's play "Bombita," the third entry in its its Pearl Theater Festival.

"Bombita" is a play about neophyte soldiers who face danger, deceit and adventure on their way to achieving acceptance and self-respect within the military caste. Playing the lead role is Perry Escaño. His military comrades are played by Abel Napuran, Troy De Guzman, Cecilio Tirona and Yutaka Yamakawa. Also starring are Christian Parado, Mark Paolo Angelo Cayabyab, Jose Nilo Mortel, Jessica Casañare and Rene Nisperos.

Soxie Topacio directs, with Alain de Leon as assistant director, Jeffrey Camañag as set designer and Joseph Matheu as lights designer.

"Bombita" goes onstage September 23, Sunday, 7 p.m., at the Concert at the Park Open Air Auditorium, Luneta, Manila. Admission is free. Call 5280603/5365860 or visit
