Frank Woeste Trio at jazz and arts festival

The Alliance Française and Goethe-Institut, with the support of the cultural departments of the French and German embassies, have the great pleasure of introducing the Philippines to a French-German jazz trio this March 2008 on the occasion of the Philippine International Jazz and Arts Festival.

The Frank Woeste Trio will perform at the Rockwell Tent on March 2 and at the Glorietta 3 Park on March 5, and also conduct a master class at the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music on March 3.

The Paris-based Frank Woeste Trio has been around since 2003 and is led by acclaimed German pianist Frank Woeste. The group has recorded two albums and was awarded "Piano Trio Revelation" at the Juan-Les-Pins Jazz Festival. Proclaimed as one of "Europe's finest jazz groups", this trio has played on many prestigious stages around the world and won numerous awards. Their visit is a special French-German activity to celebrate the relations between the two countries on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Elysee Treaty, signed in 1963 by Charles de Gaulle and Konrad Adenauer to cement France and Germany's postwar ties.
