Yep, bloggers are invited. They've asked me to offer 10 slots in this corner to bloggers who are interested to enjoy a brief preview of the show, plus scarf down free food, schmooze with Rep's new batch of musical-theater stars--and blog about the experience, of course. Bring your cameras with you--the Altar Boyz will perform some numbers. The show itself runs April 4-27 at Onstage, Greenbelt 1. Take note of the presscon details, and e-mail me asap at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a slot.
2. The Mag:Net branch at Bonifacio High Street has hit on a happy idea: a karaoke night devoted exclusively to showtunes, Broadway music, ditties from the stage. Last Tuesday, the first night, had a hyper crowd, judging from vids of the event (I wasn't there--work). Theater people who showed up gamely took to the mike, one of them the ever-bravura Bituin Escalante, who wowed the crowd with "As If We Never Said Goodbye" from Sunset Boulevard and her trademark solo in Rent's "Seasons of Love."
Here she is in her playful Norma Desmond moment, courtesy of Rockeoke:
The second Broadwayoke Night happens tomorrow--and every Tuesday from now on. Do drop by and enjoy the company of fellow Broadway junkies, as well your fave musical-theater performers. Who knows, they might not only sing, but also get smashed in front of you. Yey!
