Stupid questions

1. Why is my Technorati Authority continually slipping? From a high of 280 late last year, I'm now down to 111. Frankly, I've no idea what Technorati does to my site, which isn't SEO-optimized or whatever you call it. If I recall correctly, the Authority number refers to other blogs linking to mine. Does this mean, then, that I'm losing links over time? Am I being de-linked, cast out, pronounced anathema by some bloggers? Awww, where is the (link) love, the love, the love... And with the number decreasing by the week, does that mean my Technorati Authority will eventually hit a big fat zero? Er, is that something I should lose sleep over?

2. Why is my FeedBurner fluctuating like crazy? Some months it reaches nearly a hundred readers, then just as abruptly it falls back to its (presumably) average numbers of around 20-30, there to slumber for weeks before resuming its mystifying Sisyphean climb. Wala lang, I'm just curious. I installed FeedBurner after I had installed FeedBlitz, which is more e-mail than RSS feeds. The latter's been constant if slow-growing, the former's been practically a wild kid. Can a blog survive without any of these two? Is it helpful or practical to just take them out?

3. Why does Ellen insist on being the image model for her own salon? Di ko kinaya 'to, pramis. What's that law again on unjust vexation?

The third question is the greatest mystery we will ever face. LOL!

Another question is, bakit ka-font ng Ellen ang Cabalen?

Kung iisipin mo, dagdagan mo pa ang makeup ni Ellen (lalo na pag nakangiti ito), mukha na siyang clown, hehehe.

There's no way I'm going to try an answer the 3rd question, and the 2nd one isn't easy to answer, but I'll give the 1st question a shot.

Technorati indexes posts from the last 180 days. You've probably got a lot of old incoming links, and not too many new ones.

Note that if you're somebody else's a linkroll, a link your page consistently shows up on the front page of their blog, so Technorati keeps indexing it.

Also, to partly answer the 2nd, your blog doesn't need FeedBurner and FeedBlitz to survive, but they give you added functionality that you otherwise wouldn't have.

In other words, the fluctuations might drive you crazy, but otherwise, it doesn't hurt to keep using them.

Ikaw naman. Apparently, effective syang endorser. Imagine, 29 years! Marami siyang naging customer!

Gibbs,

Irma and I have been asking the same question as your third one for some time now.

As for the third question...
Ellen is attracting clients of her own age range, and she sets herself as an example of how she "managed" to somehow turn back the hands of time, and how she promises to do the same for her generation.

Disclaimer: I'm not involved with Ellen's, nor with Cabalen, in any way!

Ellen has a new billboard along Balintawak. She has two new endorsers (Alma Concepcion and I think Melanie Marquez) pero sag gilid lang iyong dalawa. Si Ellen pa rin ang bida (that same picture of Ellen). Kalorkey. Ang tanong, sino kayang pumapatol sa services niya? Katakot.

i think technorati only adds the links six months at a time.

I met Ellen two years ago at the backstage of the Urian Awards a few years back.

It was quite a scare.

Yung picture niya, Celia Rodriguez meets Matutina meets Boyoyong. Kalorkey.

looks like the 1st and 3rd are pretty much covered already. if you want your technorati links to go up, start a blogosphere controversy. ellen isn't really going to do it for you =)

re the 2nd, feedblitz is pretty stable because email subscribers don't really fluctuate much. feedburner as a whole, on the other hand, fiddles with its code, updates its algorithm, tries to weed out illegitimate subscribers, etc., so there are many reasons for the fluctuation. i suggest you import your feedblitz subscribers to feedburner (it can be done, look for it), and switch from the feedblitz email subscription to the feedburner one. this way, isa lang yung button mo and/or you can subtract the email subscribers from the total. take a look at my buttons to see what i mean.

i'm in london now, sana nakuha mo yung email ko. see you soon!
