PETA brings back 'Mga Kuwento ni Lola Basyang' and 'Batang Rizal'

For its 41st theater season, PETA is bringing back Christine Bellen's "Mga Kuwento ni Lola Basyang" directed by Phil Noble) and "Batang Rizal" (directed by Dudz Teraña) on September 19 until October 19, 2008 at the PETA Theater Center.

"Mga Kuwento ni Lola Basyang" features three of Severino Reyes' folktales ("Prinsipeng Mahaba ang Ilong," "Ang Prinsesang Tumalo sa Hari," "Ang Prinsipeng Duwag"), which tackle mythical journeys into self-discovery and value formation.

"Batang Rizal" revisits the notions of heroism and love of country from the point of view of children--one of which is Pepe, the young Jose Rizal.

Show dates for "Lola Basyang" are as follows: September 19-21, 27, 28 (10 a.m.), 26 (10 a.m. and 3 p.m.), October 3, 4, 5, 11, 12 (3 p.m.), October 17 (12 nn and 3:30 p.m.), October 18 (3 p.m.) 19 (10 a.m.)

Show dates for "Batang Rizal:" September 19-20, 27-28 (3 p.m.),October 3-5, 11, 12, 18 (10 a.m.), October 17 (9 a.m.), October 19 (3 p.m.)
