First presented as a staged reading during the Virgin Labfest 4 at the CCP last year, George de Jesus III's play "Kung Paano Maghiwalay" the subject of love in scenes that capture moments when break-ups happen. From the hysterically funny to the clinically blasé, the play captures snapshots of relationships disintegrating: a husband decides to split with his wife after recovering from a heart attack, a couple jokes around about breaking up and actually does, a gay couple tries to have a friendly separation, another couple cries through their break-up.
The does not follow a chronological structure but is emotionally threaded by the pathos, anger and pain of breaking-up, all seeking to answer the question: Where does love go when couples end a relationship?
The new theater company Stage Right Theater Productions, Inc., which mounted "Kung Paano Maghiwalay" last month at the Bulwagang Balagtas, PUP Library, brings the play to Teatrino at Promenade, Greenhills. Remaining playdates are on Thursday and Friday, March 12 and March 13, 9 p.m. Tickets at P500 each.
The play has a powerhouse cast of thespians: Madeleine Nicolas, Bituin Escalante, Aiza Marquez, Gilleth Sandico, Gem Padilla, Juliene Mendoza, Eric dela Cruz, GA Fallarme, John Lozano, Erwin Flores, Kristine Balmes, Lorna Lopez and Bembol Roco.
