Nahilo ako dito.
when i saw title of your post in my reader, i thought you were going to post neil patrick harris' tonys closing song. hahaha!i think i prefer the version of the cebu inmates. mas dynamic eh. :)
oh dear. poor kids. it's depressing but i can't seem to click pause.was nice meeting u! :D not sure if u remember me. i was late and had bloodshot eyes.
uhm, why are they 'poor kids'? if this kind of playful, unself-conscious expression of self is depressing, i wonder what this person considers as fun? sorry Gibbs, i really just can't stand this kind of macho posturing. it pervades the pinoy culture so deeply that most do not think twice, much less raise objections to pronouncements similar to the above.the bading is 'kadiri' (followed by laughter so it appears to be a joke) or 'sayang' (followed by a clacking of the tongue so it sounds like real concern). i can't stand it. there are many things i miss about manila (and the phils) but the macho b.s. is definitely not one of them. even the gay scene is infected by it, which has got to be the height of irony.
re:poor kids i think it's because they're probably going to look back ten years from now and think what the hell were we doing. i was very active in school presentations and believe me, the macarena does things to me that regular people don't really experience. i dunno. my two cents, i guess. but i completely understand the whole macho image thing and believe me, i had a completely different idea when i said that.
ahay buhay...duting my time, it's the straight boys -who were comfrtable enough with themselves and had a sense of humor about them- that did the dances in their effete effect... this is all in the spirit of fun...
McVIE, nasinok ako sa katatawa, haha. :)ABBY, yun ang closing on a high note! :)CB! of course i remember you! wait, were those bloodshot eyes??? :)hey MEL, thanks for sharing your sentiments. though i think CB didn't mean it that way, as he has subsequently clarified. :)yep, CONTESSA, all in the spirit of fun! i like mel's desciption: "playful, unself-conscious expression of self." :)
