Would you like your private lives ruled by these crones in cassocks?

Enlightenment standing up to medievalism. Bravo, Carlos Celdran!

"Yesterday, as an act of civil disobedience, Celdran, dressed as Filipino hero Jose Rizal, stood on the alter of Manila Cathedral during Mass holding a sign that read “Damaso” – the villainous priest in Jose Rizal’s novel, “Noli Me Tangere.” Manila’s mayor, Alfredo Lim – who has been implicated as being one of those behind the Hong Kong hostage fiasco – was present at Mass and ordered Celdran forcibly removed and held in jail until the Catholic Bishops decided on charges."

What charges could these be? Will Carlos be garroted? Oh, the suspense.

I am always a proud Catholic, but this shenanigans over RH Bill, what with the arrest of Carlos Celdran, its time we re-define the borderline between Church and State. It's just sad that it's getting ugly this way.

Artificial contraceptive measures that came up in the late 60's were based on a belief that world hunger would be solved by population control. This, however, is not true. It is a ploy to heighten GREED among the developed nations. They simply refuse to share their wealth to the poorer nations. For America alone, one eighteenth percent of the allocated billions of dollars for national security can feed the WHOLE world for one day.

Furthermore, it must be noted that artificial contraceptives in the first world countries hvae opened up the gates of the prevalent "culture of death" in the global economy packaged by its luscious and seductive marketing of body as a "thing" as the vehicle to feed the insatiable thirst for comsumerism. This has led to teen-age and unwanted pregnancies or co-habitation that encounraged abortion and/or countless divorce, notwithstanding the possible cause of infertility, depression, suicides and breast cancer.

History has it - artificial contraceptives will have much more devastating moral degradation and disintegration of families in our nation. This is where the Church must become the life-giving bearer of light and truth in name of Christ.

Finally, Carlos Celdran behaved less likely of a hero, and much less of a martyr. He has cheapened his cause further and deeper.

I do believe in the cause. Being involved in modern FP projects and interventions in mindanao to show that the best policy for the poor is to give them the power to control their family size. Pero naman, i do not agree with what Carlos Celdran did. The man has balls? what he did was actually self-promoting. And the lack of respect! May proper venue for this discussion. ang problem lang both parties cannot or would not do this in the proper forum. napakaminute ni carlos celdran sa buong picture. pero napakalaking disrespeto ang ginawa niya.

Get off your moral high horse. There certainly is no culture of death here in Australia. As a matter of fact, people here are living longer and have better standard of living. The Filipino people have suffered enough. Please do us a favour and get your head checked; your skull must be shrinking with your narrowing mind.
