Dulaang UP holds May 3-4 auditions for Noli Me Tangere: The Opera restaging


Dulaang UP opens its 37th season with the restaging of the critically-acclaimed operatic retelling by Felipe Padilla de Leon of Rizal's "Noli Me Tangere".

The production is holding auditions for limited roles on May 3-4, 5 p.m., at the Wilfrido Ma. Guerrero Theater, Palma Hall, University of the Philippines Diliman.

Audition requirements for those interested are as follows (character and corresponding song):

Maria Clara -- "Kay Tamis ng Buhay"
Ibarra (tenor) –- "Ang Aking Isinangguni"
Sisa –- "Awit ng Gabi"
Elias (baritone) –- "Ang Likong Buhay" (Act 1)
Padre Damaso (baritone/bass baritone) -– "Ang Ibig kong Sabihin" (Act 1, Scene 1) or "Diyos na Makapangyarihan" (Act 2)
Pilosopong Tasyo (bass) -- "Hindi Isang Kaduwagan" (Act 1)
Ensemble- any kundiman

"Noli Me Tangere: The Opera" is directed by Alexander Cortez with music direction by Camille Lopez-Molina, choreography by Dexter Santos, production design by Gino Gonzales, lights design by Jonjon Villareal, video design by Winter David and technical direction by Ohm David.

It will be staged on July 18 to August 5, 2012.
